Providing that we are resolved to inspire the next generation of artists and designers to excel in craft-practice; to take pride in, and uphold the traditions and intellectual and aesthetic principles of our disciplines – and understand the value of all of this – there is every reason to think positively on the future of the artifact, whether it is manifested in digital, or in physical form.

I ATTENDED EDINBURGH COLLEGE OF ART IN 1979 BEFORE 'TAKING FRENCH LEAVE' TO WORK IN VARIOUS ITINERANT JOBS IN EUROPE IN THE EARLY 1980'S.

 

LANDING BACK IN THE UK IN 1984 I WORKED IN THE BUILDING TRADE AS WELL AS PLAYING IN BANDS AND SERVING ON THE GOOD SHIP UB40 (NOT THE BAND).

 

I rETURNED TO MY TRUE CALLING IN THE LATE 80'S AND COMPLETED MY HONOURS DEGREE AT DUNCAN OF JORDANSTONE COLLEGE OF ART & DESIGN (DJCAD), UNIVERSITY OF DUNDEE, SCOTLAND.

 

I wORKED IN THE DESIGN INDUSTRY BEFORE JOINING MY OLD ALMA MATER AS A full-time MEMBER OF STAFF IN 1996.

 

I AM AN ARTIST, designer and educator. I AM currently SENIOR LECTURER & PROGRAMME DIRECTOR IN GRAPHIC DESIGN AT DJCAD, UNIVERSITY OF DUNDEE.
